Vintage Mail Order Patterns

Wonderful mail order patterns were advertised in magazines and newspapers around the country starting in the 1930's all the way through the 1980's, and probably then some.  This made it so much easier for the stay at home mom, wife and homemaker to have access to frocks, everyday clothing staples and fancy dress patterns that could be delivered right to her home.  Material could be purchased at the general store in town or ordered as needed.  Many of the mail order patterns I find are postmarked from the mid west, just a little glimpse into fashion history.

Rescued and Distressed patterns

Rescued and distressed packages and patterns are treated the same way mint condition patterns are treated:  we count all the pieces, store them in an archival sleeve with chipboard and reduce the price if pieces or instructions are missing!  You may be looking for a missing piece or instructions for your favorite vintage pattern.  Here is the opportunity to make that pattern complete.

Craft Supplies and Tools

Hello Everyone,

I have started to post sewing supplies and tools from my inventory.  Included will be vintage purse frames for adding to a sewing project or macrame purse, vintage crochet hooks, weaving looms, loops for small looms (the kind we love to make pot holders from), knitting needles, rug making supplies and anything else I can find.  I will also have coming in February an array of vintage hosiery and stockings.  For the 'new old stock' stockings, I will measure from the top edge to heel and from the toe to heel to help determine the appropriate size.  I will especially try to find larger size stockings for the 'plus size' beauties and taller gals.

Happy shopping and if you have any suggestions or requests, please feel free to drop me a line.
