Frequently asked questions

  • How do I use the 'site search' feature?
You can use the site search just as you would do a Google search or any other search engine search. If you have a specific pattern number, just put the number in without the brand. I have tried to make the categories very easy to use, however, if you have a problem finding something, please send me an email and I will give you a hand.

  • Do you provide a scan of the back of the pattern?
Yes, I will provide a scan of the back of every pattern so that you can check the specific measurements of that size. A size 14 or 16 is not the same today as it was in the 1950's or 1960's. This will allow you to be sure you are ordering the right size. I have only included the American/US measurements because the scan turns out better that way. If you need the metric sizes, please feel free to ask for a scan to be e-mailed to you for that pattern.

  • Are your patterns original or reproductions?
All patterns and items listed are original vintage, not reproductions or digital copies!

  • Why don't you separate patterns by sizes?
Sizes vary so much by decade and manufacturer that a size 12 in the 40's is very different from a contemporary size 12. I do, however, put the complete size specs in the short description so that you can see at a glance what the measurements are for BUST, WAIST and HIPS on most of the patterns. The easiest way to find your specific size is to put the size number in the search box. For example, if you are size 14, only put the 14 in the search box and anything with size 14 will come up. You may also find a pattern in 'plus size' that does not meet today's standards for plus size, but in the past would be considered 'plus'.

  • Why is a 'New Old Stock' craft kit sometimes not in it's original packaging?
I obtain my inventory from many different sources. Sometimes the kits may be new and never used, however, they may be dirty or have tears in the packages. I have repackaged them to keep them clean.

  • Do you combine shipping on patterns and booklets?
Yes, if you have patterns, booklets and/or craft items, your shipping costs will be the lowest available for the items you are ordering. Example: If you qualify for Free Priority Shipping on patterns and you order other items, I will add those items to the Free Priority Shipping at no additional cost. Just let me know you will have extra items and I will make sure it is reflected in your shipping checkout for that item.

  • How much will shipping cost?
Shipping will vary on the amount of patterns you purchase. However, 7 or more patterns will receive FREE USPS shipping (First Class up to 15 oz. or Priority Shipping over 16 oz.). Booklets, pamphlets, books and most craft kits will receive FREE shipping and 10+ patterns will receive FREE Priority shipping plus 10% off. Canada and International shipping costs are listed on the Shipping and Returns page. Heavy books will be shipped USPS Media Mail.

  • Why is International Shipping higher than other patterns I've received?
My International Shipping is based on package rates, not large envelope rates. Your pattern is shipped in a plastic sleeve with chipboard and cardboard to provide extra protection.

  • What condition are your booklets in?
Most of my booklets/leaflets can be expected to be in good condition. Now, that can also mean there is minor writing on the inside or a small tear on the cover or a single page. However, if there is something significant I will try to point it out in my description.

You will receive a credit back to your method of payment within 15 days of our receiving item. If you pay by check or money order, you will receive a store credit or credit in the form of a check.
